The accredited laboratories at VSB - Technical University of Ostrava provide a wide range of expert services in many sectors.

List of accredited laboratories

Testing Laboratory No. 1166

(Nanotechnology Centre)

The scope of accreditation granted: The chemical analysis of drinking water, surface and waste water, the water extracts of soils, types of waste including emissions, sediments, sludge fuels, construction and silicate materials, liquors, industrial spirits and antifreeze mixtures.

Testing Laboratory No. 1588

(the workplace of the ENET Center and the Department of Energy Engineering)

DEZ - Accredited workplace for the diagnosis and operation of heat-power installations. The results of measurements is used for making decisions on changing fuels, or possibly for power equipment designers as a base for their reconstruction. As the only workplace in the Czech Republic this centre is equipped with special diagnostic devices to measure temperature, pressure and the concentration of the gaseous phase in the hearths of large boilers, waste-heat sections and in the areas of the burners. Since 2000 this workplace has been accredited for emission measurements. This workplace provides measurements and the optimization of mills and grain mill circuits particularly for black coal, the measuring of mass flows and the concentration of powders in powder ducts.

Testing Laboratory No. 1167

(Laboratory of the Institute of Clean Technology Mining and Use of Energy Resources of the Faculty of Mining and Geology)

The scope of accreditation granted: The determination of the physical, chemical and mineralogical characteristics of rocks (polycrystalline, amorphous materials, stone, aggregates), gases, soils and solid wastes; the determination of contaminants captured in semi-permeable membranes. The testing laboratory workplace: 1. The laboratory of X-ray diffraction, 2. The laboratory of electron microprobes, 3. The laboratory of Raman microspectrometry, 4. The laboratory of separation methods.

Testing Laboratory No. 1166.4

(laboratories of the rock research center of the Faculty of Mining and Geology)

The scope of accreditation granted: The determination of physical, petrographical, mineralogical and mechanical properties of stones, aggregates, soils, concretes and wastes, and their chemical compositions.

The testing laboratory no 1166.3

(Laboratory Research Energy Center)

The scope of accreditation granted: The measurement of emissions, testing thermal energy plants, the measurement of other heat-technology variables, temperatures, pressures, flows, moisture, the testing of safe operations, and fuel and sampling analyses.
