Summary
The essence of the subject is to familiarize students with the issue of civil/population protection and the related protection of critical infrastructure. Within the subject, attention is focused on the civil protection terminology, history of civil defence, Geneva conventions and their additional protocols, European civil protection, population protection and crisis management, disaster risk reduction system at the regional level in the Czech Republic, critical infrastructure and integrated protection, critical infrastructure resilience, and cascading impact assessment in a critical infrastructure system.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students are familiar with the structure and essence of the functioning of the population protection system and the critical infrastructure system that provides basic life needs. They know the individual subjects of population and critical infrastructure protection. They orientate in the principles of implementing individual measures to protect the population and critical infrastructure.
