This tutorial will provide information on best practices in software engineering explicitly tailored for Computational Science and Engineering (CSE).

You have an exceptional opportunity to take part in a course conducted by Anshu Dubey and Rinku Gupta from Argonne National Laboratory (USA), a principal partner in the IDEAS project. This DOE-funded project is addressing scientific software productivity concerns that are emerging from important trends in extreme-scale computing for science and engineering, and many of its collaborators come from major software projects such as hypre, PETSc, SuperLU and Trilinos, which have succeeded in instituting a strong culture of software engineering.

This tutorial will provide methodologies and best practices in software engineering explicitly tailored for Computational Science and Engineering (CSE). Goals are improving the productivity of those who develop CSE software and increasing the sustainability of software artefacts. We will discuss practices that are relevant for projects of all sizes, with emphasis on smaller teams.
