The PhD Academy offers courses for the summer semester

“As promised, we do are doing our best to respond to the suggestions we have from the participants of the PhD Academy. One example is the expansion of the number of English language courses offer for the summer semester. The academic writing course, Writing for Publication, which has been in great demand, is now also being offered online to make it available to distance learning PhD students. The courses will be led by VSB-TUO employees, and we have also hired one external lecturer and we are very pleased that we have also managed to arrange three new courses which will be taught by experts from abroad,” said Lucie Hofrichterová, PhD Academy administrator.

Registration for PhD Academy courses is now open. Interested applicants can register at least two days before the start of the course, applications should be sent together with your personal number to phdakademie@vsb.cz.

A pilot PhD Academy, which was launched this academic year, offers a wide and varied range of courses from multiple providers at a University-wide level. The PhD Academy mainly covers the areas of scientometrics and publishing, basics of scientific work, statistics, project management and soft skills. For example, students can learn how to write scientific papers, prepare for presenting at conferences, process data and develop their English skills. Courses are held in Czech and English.
