Have you got an idea for a start-up? Are you not sure where to start, but looking for other students who can help you take the next step? Would you like to test your idea and see how it would be received by a group of active students? If you answered yes, then the MSIC LabZero program is the right choice for you.
MSIC LabZero is a structured, three-part program designed to engage students in solving real-world challenges originating from both academic and business environments. The program begins with Reverse Pitching, a format in which researchers and entrepreneurs present their ideas and open challenges. Your task will be to present your idea to an audience and attract potential members to your team (students). Students then select the topics that resonate with their interests and form interdisciplinary teams from MSK universities to develop concrete solutions.
Second parf of program: You together with the students (your team) participate in an intensive three-day Bootcamp. During this phase, teams further develop their chosen projects using methodologies such as Design Thinking, Lean Startup, the Business Model Canvas etc. Participants will receive practical training in presentation skills, marketing, customer research and working across different disciplines. Experienced mentors from academia and industry guide the process, providing insights into real-world business and research practices.
The third parf of program is a Demo Day, where you and your student team pitch solution to a professional audience composed of experts and representatives from universities and companies. The best-performing team receives financial support to further develop their project. Importantly, the collaboration continues beyond Demo Day through a follow-up incubation program, supported by MSIC and tailored mentoring sessions with the challenge providers (either companies or researchers).
The goals of the program are to (1) provide you and students team with experience in solving applied challenges; (2) develop skills in innovation methodologies and team collaboration; (3) foster interaction between students, researchers, and businesses; and (4) support the transition of promising ideas into impactful real-world solutions.
