The study programme Intelligent Transport and Logistics arises from the needs of the dynamic development of the sector dealing with the management of material flows in connection with the development of information technology in this area and towards the digitalization of transport, the development of fields focused on the issues of Industry 4.0, Digital Factory 2.0, Logistics 4.0, Smart Technologies of the 21st century and the Internet of Things. The last years of the 20th century and the first years of the 21st century are characterised by the dynamic development of the world economy closely linked to the field of Logistics. The Czech Republic is a crossroads of transport routes and has a great perspective for the development of new digitalized approaches in processing companies and newly emerging modern logistics centres. Under the pressure of globalisation and digitalisation, the management philosophy of internal and external supply chains is changing with a new focus on an open approach to the customer and their needs. The idea of global digital optimisation is one of the supporting ideas of modern logistics processes.
