Study programme Environmental Protection within Industry

The bachelor's study program "Environmental Protection in Industry" is a modern interdisciplinary study program based on a general technical and scientific basis. The bachelor curriculum is based on modern knowledge arising from research and the experience of domestic and international practice. It focuses mainly on the industrial environment, especially on the impact of mining and industrial technologies on the environment. The course structure focuses on the industrial, mining and post-mining environment, global issues in the industrialized environment, understanding and evaluating biological change in the industrial landscape, innovative methods and technologies for reducing and eliminating contaminants in the air, soil, water, and in terms of the protection of ecosystems, as well as the prevention, regeneration and revitalization of the industrial environment. The technical character of the study program is completed by courses on mathematics and physics which are focused primarily on mathematical and multicriteria analysis of experimental data obtained for the processing of the final thesis. These courses are then suitably supplemented by compulsory-elective courses and a course taught in English, which develop students’ other technical and communication competencies. Great emphasis is placed on experimental work in the laboratory and in the field, in which the acquired theoretical and practical knowledge and skills are deepened and expanded.
