Subject syllabus

1. Introduction to the study. Setting the conditions for completing the course. Analysis of the literature, assignment of a seminar paper.
2. Definition and categorization of developing countries (hereinafter referred to as RZ).
3. Theory of developing economies. Basic models of movement of labor and capital. Analysis of the "primary economy" through the lens of the Two-gap model.
4. Sector analysis of RZ. Economic development and position of RZ in the world economy.
5. Oil shocks and their effect on RZ. Development of oil prices and oil shocks from a historical perspective. Oil shock in the AS-AD model. Implications for the balance of payments of oil importing and exporting countries.
6.-7. International trade of RZ in the context of the two-gap model. International trade in the two-gap model. Exchange rate and balance of payments theory as a tool of analysis. The impact of the Covid-19 shock on RZ.
8.-9. Capital flows of RZ. Basic model of capital movement. Capital flows to RZ. Analysis of the impact of the Global Financial Crisis 2007-2009 on RZ.
10. Migration and its influence on the status of developing countries.
11.-12.. Regional integration processes in RZ. Basic integration grouping. The role of industrialization in the regional integration of RZ.
13.-14. Historical and current debt problems at RZ. The issue of excessive debt, the debt Laffer curve and related theoretical concepts of government debt. Three-gap model. RZ debt relief process
