Subject syllabus

1. Basic concepts and aspects of regional and global integration in the current world economy, their driving forces. The nature of contemporary integration processes in relation to security and security policy.
2. Realization forms and degrees of economic integration. Application of theoretical knowledge on real integration in the world economy. Security Union as part of the political union.
3. Mainstream currents in integration theory - selected theoretical concepts, differences in conception and evaluation of integration. Hypothetical models of integration (paradigms). Protectionism and liberalism in integration theory.
4. Barriers to the integration process. Anti-integration forces of economic and non-economic nature in world economy and politics. World War Conflicts and their Influence on the Development of the World Economy.
5. Specific features of integration processes in developing countries. The momentum of integration. Obstacles to effective integration of objective and subjective character.
6. Regional conflicts, their development and influence on developing economies. Asymmetric and Hybrid War.
7. Small economies and their position in the world economy and in integration processes. Advantages and disadvantages compared to large economies.
8. The position of small member countries in the European Union, their role in the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy.
9. Basics of economics of preferential liberalization - preferential business arrangement, analysis of customs union.
10. Static model of customs union, effects of "creating" and "deviating" trade.
11. Dynamic model of customs union - selected aspects related to economies of scale and size of the market. Individual types of market structure, BE-COMP model in closed economy, process of liberalization.
12. Factoring markets - their integration and growth effects. Economic integration and labor markets. Macroeconomics of Monetary Integration - Selected Aspects.
13. Globalization of the world economy, global security problems, current security situation in the world.
14. Czech Republic in international security structures, security policy of the Czech Republic.
