Subject syllabus

1 The concept of logistics, it´s functions and goals. The development of logistics and latest trends.
2 Systematic approach to logistics, logistic chains and networks, logistic interfaces.
3 The logistic service level and logistic costs. Logistic tradeoff.
4 Goals, principles and hierarchy of tasks in logistic management.
5 Problems of lot sizing.
6 Continuous time – definition, structure, methodology of evaluation and analysis
7 Capacity and work place specialization and it’s influence on logistics.
8 The introduction to supply chain management: supplier’s selection, scheduling, warehousing systems.
9 Selected practices from inventory management: inventory types, indexes of inventory movement, order cycle scheduling and lot sizes, ABC analysis
10 The introduction to production planning and control.
11 Localization problem in logistics. Stock layout and space determination.
12 Introduce of distribution: basic tasks in distribution logistic, consolidation, separating,
assembling, the task of logistic service providers (LSP).
13 Directions of new technical instruments in logistic.
14 Information systems in logistics.
15 Ecological, social and legal aspects of logistics.

E-learning

The subject introduces approaches, principles, goals and basic tasks of logistics. It insists upon systematic conception of logistic flows and overcoming of local goals in logistics. Social aspects in logistic decisions are demonstrated. The basic procedures in flow organization and calculation of fundamental logistic variables are explained.
