Subject syllabus

1. Definition of supply chains. Objectives and basic tasks of supply chain management.
2. Contradictions, risks, chain effects in supply chains and their solutions.
3. Projecting the structure of supply chains. Metrics for evaluating supply chains.
4. The concept of supply chain management. The concept of leanness and agility - essence and tools.
5. Customer-centric supply chain. Concepts of Quick Response and Efficient Customer Response - essence and tools.
6. Demand forecasting and its effect on the supply chain. Demand forecasting methods.
7. Inventory management by the supplier. Model of Vendor Managed Inventory and Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment.
8. Strategic analysis in the supply chain, strategic analysis tools in the supply chain. SCOR model.
9. Mapping and process management of supply chains. Tools for improving supply chain management.
10. Supply Chain Costs. Applying the calculation of costs to activities in logistics management.
11. Risk management in supply chains. Risk management process and types of risks in the supply chain.
12. Information support for supply chain management. SCM system and ERP system. The influence of SCM systems on the effectiveness of the functioning of supply chain foci.
13. Supply chain management in Japan. The structure and functioning of Keiretsu-type supply chains.
14. Management of supply chains in Europe. Logistics outsourcing in European supply chains.
