Subject syllabus

1. Internal and external supply chains, supply chains structure, interfaces i n logistics. Goals, basic tasks and organization support of supply chain management.
2. Contradictions, risks and bullwhip effects in supply chains and directions of their solving: internal and external integration, resilience increasing, rationality.
3. Designing the structure of supply chains and international supply chains. Their design process. Databases needed for designing supply chains. Metrics for evaluating supply chains.
4. The concept of supply chain management. The concept of leanness in supply chains - essence and tools. The concept of agility - essence and tools.
5. Customer-centric supply chain. Concepts of Quick Response and Efficient Customer Response - essence and tools.
6. Demand forecasting and its effect on the supply chain. Demand forecasting methods - quantitative and qualitative methods.
7. Inventory management by the supplier. Model VMI - Vendor Managed Inventory, definition of goal, essence, development and forms. Consignment warehouses. Implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory. CPFR model - Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment in the supply chain.
8. Strategic analysis in the supply chain, strategic analysis tools in the supply chain. SCOR model - supply chain reference model.
9. Mapping and process management of supply chains. Processes and activities in the supply chain. Benchmarking. Advantages of process management in supply chains. Kaizen and reengineering.
10. Supply chain costs, its nature, activity cost calculation model, comparison of traditional cost calculation with activity cost calculation. Applying the calculation of costs to activities in logistics management.
11. Risk management in supply chains. Risk management process, types of risks in the supply chain. Methods and techniques of risk management in the supply chain.
12. Information support for supply chain management. SCM system and ERP system. The influence of SCM systems on the effectiveness of the functioning of supply chain foci. Conditions for SCM deployment success. eSCM system and SCM system development.
13. Supply chain management in Japan. Sources of development and success of enterprise integration in Japan. The structure and functioning of Keiretsu-type supply chains.
14. Management of supply chains in Europe. Functioning and development directions of supply chains in the European Union. Logistics outsourcing in European supply chains.
