Subject syllabus

1.The definition of social policy, its position in economy, functions, principles, subjects and tools. The relationship between social and economic policy.
2.The genesis of social policy on an international scale. The typology of the welfare state. The influence of international organizations and conventions for the development of social policy. Models of contemporary social policy.
3.The inequality in society, solidarity, equity and efficiency; poverty dimension; official poverty line; living and subsistence minimum in the Czech Republic.
4.The collective bargaining. The characteristics of collective bargaining. The collective bargaining in the Czech Republic. The process of concluding collective agreements. The collective dispute. The right to strike.
5.The social and wage policy. Basic aspects of wage policy in the Czech Republic. The wage policy in business and non-business sphere. The minimum Wage Institute in the Czech Republic.
6.The social and employment policy. The development of approaches to employment policy in the EU. The international dimension of the relationship between employee and employer in the labor market. The passive employment policy.
7.The social security in the Czech Republic. The right to social security and state protection. The social insurance. The state social support. The social help.
8.Social services in the system of social protection of the population. The definition of social services - types and forms of social services. The financing of social services. The medium-term plans for social services development.
9.The definition of health policy, functions, goals, principles, subjects. The definition of health, determinants of health. Forms and types of health care. The health care systems.
10.The medical law and its development in the Czech Republic. The ethics in Health Care. The development of the Health Care Legal Framework after 1989. The rights and obligations of patients in the health care system. The rights and obligations of providers.
11.The health status of the population and its development. Chronic diseases, birth defects, civilization diseases. The health support. The national health promotion concepts.
12.The organization and management of health services. The role of the Ministry of Health, Regions, Municipalities in the Health System. Activities of Regional Hygienic Stations, Health Institutes, Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic. The origin and development of WHO.
13.The financing of healthcare in the Czech Republic. Sources of Health Financing. Payers of public health insurance in the Czech Republic. The administration of public health insurance. Characteristics of Health Care Reimbursement Methods.
14. Reimbursement of health care in the Czech Republic according to the reimbursement decree for the given year. The system of remuneration of health workers in the Czech Republic.
