Subject syllabus

1) Introduction to principles of management information systems and Business Intelligence; fundamentals of the management system and computerized support of management processes execution, mainly using Business Intelligence system components.
2) Fundamentals of dimensional modelling and Business Intelligence system database design techniques.
3) Architecture of the Business Intelligence system, main components and layers of the architecture.
4) Data Warehousing and key aspects of collection, storage and processing of structured, unstructured and semi-structured data, main types of data storages within the Business Intelligence system.
5) Fundamentals of data pump design and deployment, importance of metadata in ETL and ELT processes, important aspects of managing data quality.
6) Main types and usage aspects of user interface within the Business Intelligence system, OLAP techniques and principles
7) Fundamentals of Big Data sources usage, purpose and principles of quantitative analysis of the data, its relationship with modern organizations management, OLAP and reporting for the management.
8) Aspects of strategic and tactical planning and deployment of the Business Intelligence system, system life-cycle, importance of cloud computing and EAI solutions within the BI system deployment planning, importance of agile-oriented project management methodologies.
