Osnova předmětu

The goal of the course is to introduce students in the issues of strategic process application in the modern organization.
Students will acquire knowledge about dimensions and levels of strategic management and recognize the impact of internal and external factors on the organizational success. They will be able to apply the gained knowledge to practical business situations.

Structure of the course:
1. The nature of strategic management and strategic thinking
2. SM and strategic planning process steps, strategic levels
3. Goals, values and performance - vision and mission, strategic leadership
4. External environment assessment, analysis of the industry environment, determinants of industry profit
5. Analysis of internal strategic resources and capabilities, core competencies
6. Corporate level strategic capabilities, corporate parenting
7. Strategic choice - nature and sources of competitive advantage,
8. Business, corporate strategy formation and selection.
9. Strategy implementation. Strategy - culture - structure.
10. Managing strategic change
11. Nature of strategic control, Balanced Scorecard
12. Globalization and internationalization in SM.
