Subject syllabus

General scope of the course:
Fire resistance and its limit states, building structures under fire loading, fire curves, fire models. General principles for design of building structures under fire loading. Assessment methods for fire resistance, limit states, accidental design situations. Concrete and reinforcement properties at high temperature. Fire design of concrete structures. Properties of structural steel at high temperature. Fire design of steel and steel-concrete structures. Properties of timber at high temperature. Fire design of timber structures. The effect of fire protections on fire resistance of steel structures.

Individual project:
The topic and the form of an individual project will be chosen by the teacher considering the scope of the thesis.
