Theoretical Geomechanics

Type of study -
Language of instruction Czech
Code 224-0902/00
Abbreviation TG
Course title Theoretical Geomechanics
Coordinating department Department of Geotechnics and Underground Engineering
Course coordinator Fiktivní Uživatel

Course aims

The goal is the formulation, explanation, understanding and analysis of theoretical
foundations of rock and soil mechanics and methods of solving stress-strain state
rock environment. Students completing this course should be
able to apply these basic theoretical knowledge in solving practical problems
geomechanics, to formulate a theoretical basis for the practical problem
define the basic determinants of the problem and evaluate their role in
address the problem, formulate the requirements for quality and quantity determination
determining the properties of geological environment and also critically compare the theoretical assumptions with practical reality.
