Subject syllabus

The aim of the subject is to provide basic knowledge of chosen chapters of the structural engineering.

1. The protection of buildings against radon. Basic terms.
2. The protection of buildings against radon. Designing protection against radon in new buildings.
3. The protection of buildings against radon. The protection of rooms against radon in existing buildings.
4. The buildings in flood areas. Basic terms. Construction rules
for designing buildings in flood areas.
5. The buildings in flood areas. Changes in existing buildings. Rehabilitation of buildings after a flood.
6. The buildings in mining areas. The effects of mining on the earth surface. Area of subsidence.
7. The buildings in mining areas. General rules for designing buildings in mining areas. The specific conditions of geological surveys in mining areas. Various types of buldings.
8. The buildings in mining areas. Designing foundations from the viewpoint of undermining.
9. Low-energy buildings. Basic terms.
10. Low-energy buildings. Standards of peripheral constructions.
11. Low-energy buildings. Standards of doos and windows in peripheral constructions. The possibilities of improving of thermal-technical qualities of peripheral constructions in existing buildings.
