Subject syllabus

Part mechanics:
Functioning in laboratory, safety rules
Introduction to the problematics of experiment, measurement and testing
Electrical measurements of mechanical quantities
Mechanical vibration transducers, equipment for measuring and analysis of vibrations
Analog and digital processing of the measured signal
Frequency analysis and FFT
Optimal sampling frequency, aliasing, weighting windows
Part Mechanics of materials:
Introduction to photoelasticimetry - basic knowledge from optics, light polarisation, permanent and temporary birefringence, formation of isoclines and isochromatic lines, optical senzitivity constant od material
Plane photoelasticimetry - transmission polariscope with linear and circle polarized light, construction of isostats, evaluation of stress on unloaded surface, separation of principal stresses by measuring change in model's thickness
Basics of tensiometry - types of strain gauges, electric resistance strain gauges, bridge connection of strain gauges
Evaluation of strain from tensiometrical measurements - zero and deviation measuring method, evaluation of strain-gauge cross and rosette
