Subject syllabus

1. Basic concepts of technical measurements, electrical measurements of mechanical quantities, proximity probes, velometers, accelerometers, single-use measurement equipment.
2. Frequency analysis, dual-channel analyzer, aliasing and leakage errors.
3. Operational deflection shapes measurement.
4. Experimental and operational modal analysis.
5. Measurement of properties of low-frequency amplifier.
6. Experimental evaluation of validity of rules for summation of coherent and noncoherent acoustic signals. Demonstration of beat phenomena.
7. Measurement of directional properties of noise sources. Measurement of the overall level and octave analysis of the noise using sound level meter.
8. Octave, one-third octave and FFT analysis of noise.
9. Evaluation of acoustic power of the noise source from acoustic pressure level measurements.
