Subject syllabus

Lecture syllabus:
1. Definition of colour. Colour specification systems used in different fields of design (product design, graphic design, architecture).
2. Printing inks and their application in different printing processes.
3. The relationship between colour and space. The influence of colour on spatial perception.
4. Camouflage.
5. Colour in the digital environment. Colour-related issues in digital technologies.
6. Colour measurement.
7. Psychological effects of colour. The influence of colour on human perception and psychology; colour tests.

Practical class syllabus:
8–9. Colour mixing and the basic colour palette. Specific properties of individual pigments.
10–11. Colour composition, colour contrast, saturation, and complementary contrast.
12. Colour accent.
13. Light, shadow, and colour.
14. Monochromatic painting.
