Subject syllabus
1. Introduction and explanation of assignments.
2. Introduction to cameras and laboratories; occupational safety training.
Independent work (through the completion of individual assignments) focusing on basic photographic disciplines and photography techniques:
3. Landscape and architectural photography.
4. Documentary photography and photojournalism.
5. Fundamentals of color composition in photography.
6. Arranged still life in the studio under continuous lighting; white on white.
7. Portrait photography in the studio under continuous lighting.
8. Technical assignment to verify the properties of white balance (WB) in digital imaging.
9–10. Developing 35 mm and medium-format film.
11–12. Producing black-and-white photographs from 35 mm and medium-format film.
13. Basic digital image editing on a computer.
14. Final evaluation of the individual assignments through a joint presentation.
Digital SLR cameras are used for most assignments; however, some assignments are also completed using traditional 35 mm and medium-format film SLR cameras.
