Subject syllabus

1. Introduction, history of CAD systems, basic concepts. Basic graphical software environment, navigation within the environment
2. Sketch, opening a sketch, sketch plane, cursor symbols, dimensions, relations, and sketch geometry status
3. Sketch creation – basics of modeling
4. Reference geometry – creation of planes and axes
5. Parts – model creation, adding/removing by extrusion, feature editing, sketch planes
6. Part creation – adding/removing by rotation, fillet, chamfer, cosmetic thread, hole wizard, sweep
7. Rib, linear/circular pattern, mirror, equations, material selection
8. Assemblies – creation, inserting parts, modeling parts within an assembly
9. Assembly creation – libraries of standard components, part editing, exploded view
10. Sheet metal parts
11. Surfaces – extruded surface, planar and swept surfaces, ruled surface
12. Part drawings – drawing creation, opening a new drawing, commands, displaying a part in a drawing
13. Assembly drawings – assembly section, item numbers (balloons), bill of materials, BOM template
