Subject syllabus

1. Introduction to Metrology - Metrology characteristics , defining important terms in the field .
2. Metrology Law – introduction to applicable law on metrology, institutions active in metrology, the basic division of measurement instrument.
3. National Metrology system - the basic elements of the national metrology system.
4. Metrology traceability - incorporation of instruments in an uninterrupted sequence of transfer values.
5. Errors and uncertainty of measurement - the issue of kinds and computation errors and uncertainties.
6. Basic types of measuring instruments - classification of measuring instruments from different perspectives.
7. Length metrology - various methods of measurements of lengths by absolute and comparative gauges.
8. Metrology plane angle - the angle measuring with different kinds of measuring instruments.
9. Check the roughness of surfaces - different types of surface roughness and description of methods of roughness measured.
10. Deviations of form and position - read of technical drawings in terms of metrology.
11. Check the threads - Thread parameters and the measured methods.
12. Check of gears - gears various parameters and methods of controlling these parameters.
13. Coordinate measuring machines - measurement on CMM including practical examples of measurements in the laboratory.
14. Quality management in metrology - chapter deals with quality management and quality in metrology.
