Subject syllabus

The syllabus is not structured by teaching weeks; instead, it outlines the sequential general steps required to fulfill the course completion requirements. This format is used because the individual steps may vary in time intensity.

1. Introduction to the assignment and consultation with the instructor.
2. Acquisition of supporting documentation and data for development.
3. Establishment of basic mass and energy balances and the equipment flow sheet.
4. Balance calculations and mass calculations for the equipment.
5. Preliminary design and selection of equipment dimensions.
6. Development of technical drawings and design documentation.
7. Refinement of technical drawings and design documentation.
8. Preparation of the final version of the thesis/project. Presentation of results to peers via a lecture, utilizing computing and audiovisual equipment.
