Subject syllabus

Lectures:
Basic principles of technical diagnostics. Methods of connecting the measuring instrument to the measured object.
Adjustment of the measured signal. Current and voltage I/O and their standardisation.
Transducers and converters of electrical quantities. Voltage dividers, shunt transformers, measuring transformers, Rogowski coil, LEM sensors. Galvanic decoupling of measured signals.
Static and dynamic characteristics of A/D and D/A converters, parameters. Types of converters and description of their function.
Systems for monitoring electrical quantities in distribution networks.
Measurement of transients. Protection against interference in signal transmission.
Quality monitors. Static and dynamic voltage deviations, voltage fluctuations, flicker, asymmetry.
Virtualization. Types and methods, tools for virtualization solutions.
Software for industrial automation - Control Web.
Practical examples of realized measurements.

Exercise:
Control of measuring instruments using a PC.
Development of specialised measurement sets.
Bulk processing of measured data.
Graphical presentation of measured results.
Sharing data between different software tools.
