Subject syllabus

- Basic principles of technical diagnostics. Types of measured signals, their adjustment and modification.
- Electrical transducers, industry standards. A/D and D/A converters.
- Data acquisition and transmission. Computer control of measuring instruments. Serial and parallel interfaces and their use in measurement.
- Sampling, effect of sampling rate on measurement accuracy and correctness evaluation of measured data.
- Signal analysis, time series analysis, digital filtering. Statistical tests.
- Design of measurement methodology. Selection of HW and SW resources.
- Protection against interference. Methods of separating the measuring equipment from the measured object.
- Use of technical and software tools for the design of the measurement application.
- Archiving and processing of measured data. Evaluation of the measurement and its graphical presentation. Mutual sharing of data.
- Systems for generating custom measurement, control and regulation programs. Use of virtual instruments.
- Modelling and simulation of measurements. Archiving and processing of measured data.
