• Linear and quadratic Kerr effects, longitudinal, transversal and polar magnetization components

• Magneto-optical vector magnetometry, intensity differential magneto-optical method

• Magneto-optical Kerr microscopy, observation of magnetic domains

• Spectroscopic magneto-optical ellipsometry

• Modelling of magneto-optical effects in thin films

• Applications – data recording, magneto-optical traps, isolators, sensors
