Content focus:
- Photonic crystals: the electromagnetic field in a periodic environment, the variation
approach in electromagnetic theory, symmetry, translation, photonic band
Structure .- 1D photonic crystals: stratified environment Brillouinovy
zone, evanescentní modes, the emergence of partial band gap .- 2D and 3D
photonic crystals: the system of dielectric and metal rods and tubes, 3D
objects and complete Photonic band banned. - Defects in photonic
crystals: the influence of point and line defects. - Application of photonic crystals:
crossing, splitting and binding in photonic waveguides .- Metamaterials:
superčočky, delay members, etc. - Photonic crystal fibers: a description
electromagnetic fields in mikrostrukturovaných fibers, wave management, basic
transmission properties. - Special types and applications of crystal fibers:
dvojlomná and nonlinear photonic crystal fiber, superkontinua generation,
delay lines, sensors, etc.
