Osnova předmětu

Introduction into environmental geochemistry.
The main principles of migration of elements in environment – internal and external factors. The geochemical background and its importace for determination contamination levels.
The occurence of natural anomalies in environment. Clarks. Map of geochemical reactivity of rocks.
Biogeochemical cycles.
Heavy metals in environment.
Organic pollutants – behaviour, main properties, diffrenece between migration ability
Geochemistry of soils (physico-chemical properties, the principles of binding metals in soils. Sequential extraction methods.
Occurence of organic pollutants in soils their biodegradability and index accumulation. The migration in system: underground water – soils – surface water.
Geochemistry of sludge (heavy metals and occurence of organic pollutants).
Particulate matter in surface and waste waters. The form of occurence of risk elements.
Geochemistry and mineral phase composition of sediments in water streams, rivers and lakes. The determination of geochemical backgrounds.
The contamination of environment in areas influenced by mining activity (Acid mine drainage, behaviour of heavy metals).
Geochemistry of wastes produced during energetic activity.
Geochemistry of fly ash – PM10.
