Subject syllabus

The sources of geological and environmental data and their format.
The issue of data collection, standardization and formalization of geological and environmental data.
Methods of presentation of data: numeric, text, semigraphic, and graphic.
Geographic data and methods for modeling in a computer environment.
The issue of map coordinate systems.
The relationship between the geographical and geological data.
Analysis of geological and environmental data with regard to their use in GIS.
Basic geostatistical calculations and linking results to geographic data.
Estimation of three-dimensional quantities with respect to the presentation in GIS.
