Subject syllabus

1. Europe in late prehistoric times, the beginnings of the European population. Roman Empire after our era. The crisis of the empire, the migration of peoples, the emergence of "barbarian" states in the Germanic and Slavic tribes.
2. The Frankish Empire in the 5th - 9th centuries. The Merovingians, the Karlovians, the division of the empire, the beginnings of Germany, Italy, France.
3. Germany 911 - 1806, France and England until 1914.
4. Hungary and the Balkans. Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Romania, Byzantium.
5. Italy from the 10th to the 19th century. Political, cultural, economic development. The position of the papacy.
6. Poland, Kievan Rus from the 10th century. Mongol invasion, Moscow Empire, Russia in the 18th century.
7. Poland - Lithuanian Empire until the 18th century.
8. The Iberian Peninsula from the invasion of the Arabs to the 19th century.
9. Scandinavia 10th - 19th centuries.
10. Germany, Russia, Italy in the 19th century.
11. The Balkans in the 19th century and up to World War I.
12. Europe 1914 - 1945.
13. Europe 1945 - 1990. The Iron Curtain, the Cold War, NATO and the Warsaw Pact.
