Subject syllabus

• Legal resources for engineering surveying, terminology.
• Planning of measuring accuracy in engineering surveying – application of adjustment calculus and theory of errors in evaluation of accuracy of a measurement, modelling using PC.
• Accuracy of measured quantities (horizontal angles, zenith angles, distances, height differences, verticals) and analysis of error sources.
• Planimetric setting-out networks (areal, line and irregular networks, rectangular networks and temporary stations method), their accuracies and evaluation of quality.
• Planimetric setting-out, accuracy of setting-out of object’s basic elements using various procedures (point, distance and bearing of a line, angle between two lines).
• Altimetric setting-out, altimetric setting-out networks, accuracy analysis of particular methods of altimetric setting-out and measurement.
• Spatial setting-out networks determined trigonometrically and with GPS methods, their accuracy.
• Transition curves (clothoid, cubic parabola – derivation), circular curves with a transition curve (connection). Altitudinal curves (parabola of the 2nd grade - derivation).
