Subject syllabus

1.Introductory lecture, Ecological functions of the state. Ecological policy of Environment of Czech Republic. Protection and creation of an environment. Tools for environmental management regulatory, economic, informational and institutional).
2.Basic concepts and relationships in ecology. Environment. Biotic components of the environment. Ecosystem. The flow of energy. Productivity. Trophic structure. Food ( trophic ) chain. The effect of environmental factors. Limiting factors and production. Transformative effects.
3.Energy and the environment. Energy in ecological concepts. Man and Energy. Natural sources of energy.
4.Air pollution. Pollution and air pollution. The nature and characteristics of pollutants. Air pollution limits. Concentration (content) of pollutants. Measurement and calculation of emissions.
5.Air pollution. Modeling and dispersion of pollutants. Measures in relation to the improvement of the situation.
6.Water pollution. Features and functions of water. Water pollution. The nature and characteristics of pollutants. Permitted water pollution. Calculating the concentration of pollutants. Biochemical processes in the water.
7.Water pollution. Waste water treatment plants.
8.Pollution of soils. Soil characteristics and functions. The nature and characteristics of pollutants. Allowable soil pollution.
9.Pollution by wastes. Basic concepts and relationships. Types and classification of waste. Creation, use and disposal of waste.
10.Priority of waste management. waste processing technologies.
11.Pollution by physical effects. Noise. Ionizing radiation. Electromagnetic radiation. Thermal effects of pollution.
12.Global environmental pollution. Acid rain. Climate change. Warming of the Earth. The ozone layer of the Earth. Smog.
13.The consequences of environmental degradation. The consequences of changes in environmental degradation. Contamination of the food chain. The toxicity and genotoxicity of pollutants. Persistence and bioaccumulation of pollutants.
14.Environmental pollution by industrial company - metallurgical company closed cycle of production.
