1. The role of metallurgical coke,its raw material base. Iron making process.
2. Theory of the coking process.
3. Chemical changes during the thermal degradation of coal substance.
4. The relationship between coal properties and coke quality and its prediction.
5. Coke oven batteries, construction, major parts, construction materials,
coking chamber
6. Mode operation and coke service
7.Physical and chemical structure of coke substance. Mechanical and chemical properties of coke. Testing methods.
8. Thermal and mechanical degradation of coke in the secondary technologies
9. Kinetics of the coke dissolution in metall melts and the accompanying physical chemical processes
10. Burning of coke and its gasification
11.Coal tar pitch, its origin, composition and physico-chemical properties.
12. Basic technological processing of pitch. Pyrolysis of pitch. Carbon electode production and utilization.
13. Ecology and economy of coal utilization processes.
14. Exkurzion into coking plant.
