Subject syllabus

1.Thermodynamics and kinetics of chemical reactions (heat of reaction, reaction rate, order and molecularity of reaction, transition state theory, affecting of reaction rate by temperature, catalysis)
2. Processes on the phase surfaces (surface and interfacial tension, adsorption). Physical and chemical parameters affecting the distribution of substances in environmental media.
3.Chemical bonding and structure of polymers, rheological behavior, polymer production and processing methods, main types of industrial polymers. Ecological aspects of polymer utilization and polymer wastes.
4.Theoretical basis of pyrolysis processes. Pyrolysis of hydrocarbons and method of its monitoring. Principle and application of thermogravimetry and pyrolysis chromatography in the monitoring of pyrolysis. Industrial pyrolysis and Co-pyrolysis.
5.Thermal and thermo-oxidative degradation of polymers. Fire suppression(retardants). Ecological characteristics of the products of combustion.
