Subject syllabus

1. Combustion. Energy changes during burning and explosion processes. Kinetics of homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions.Thermodynamic characteristics of combustibles. Types of flames, the flame temperature. Burning of dust mixtures, gasous, liquid and solid substances. Methods of fire suppression.

2. Spontaneous combustion. Flammability of materials and their establishing. Thermal and chemical combustion. Autoignition based on biochemical processes. Methods of monitoring processes of thermooxidation.

3. Fire. Mechanism of the fire extinguishing processes. Types of extinguishing agents. Surfactants, foam formation theory. Water chemistry (the presence and distribution, chemical and physical properties).

4.The chemical and toxicological properties of combustion products
