Lectures

Part Iron
1. The history and development of iron and steel production in the world and in CR.
2. Raw materials and the preparation of blast-furnace charge.
3. Sintering and pelletizing of iron ore.
4. Reduction processes in the blast furnace.
5. Oxidation processes in Undertow charge and gas.
6. Fundamentals of management of blast furnace process.
7. Alternative metods of iron production.
8. Types of raw iron.

Part of Steel
1. List and steel processes.
2. Oxidation processes in steel production.
3. Deoxidation of steel.
4. Cleanliness of steel inclusions.
5. Desulphurization anddephosporization of steel .
6. Production of steel in converters, electric furnaces, and tandem.
7. Secondary steel refining. Casting of steel.
8. Distribution of steel produced.
9. The influence of types of pig iron and steel for recycling metal waste.

Praktice (only for full-time study form):

2 Basic chemical equations
3 Excursions: Trinec Ironworks or ArcelorMittal Ostrava
4 Seminar - Reports from excursions, presentations, discussions

3. Desulphurization and Dephosforization of steel
4. Reactions during fining of steel
5. Exkursion -Vitkovice . Old and New steel plant
6. Gases in Steel
7. Assessment Exercise, credit

To obtain credit in the combined study form is needed to develop a session project.
