Subject syllabus

- Principles of blast furnace process.
- Processing,charging and distribution of blast furnace burden.
- Bolwing-in, bolwing-out and banking of blast furnace.
- Irregularities and theircontrol : Channeling, scaffolding,scabs,hangig,slips choking of hearth,chilled hearth,burning of tuyeres.
- Stove operation.
- Oxygenation and humidificatin of blast
- High top pressure.
- Technology of auxiliary fuel injection.
- Tapping of pig iron and slag.
- Cleaning of blast furnace gas.
- Perspectives of blast furnace technology

Exercise.
- Semestral Project "Calculation of dependency impact of the amounts and composition of alternative fuels in the theoretical combustion temperature and gas composition
- Calculation of theoretical flame temperatures in the oxidation area
- Calculation of the quantity and composition of gas from the oxidation area
-Calculation of the layer of coke and ore in the blast furnace shaft
- Calculation of the parameters of the gas in shaft furnaces
- Calculation of the grain size of the charge in shaft of blast furnace
- Determination of the gravitational forces of charge and gas lifting force
- Calculation of the permeability layer charge and coke
- Excursion to the blast furnace operation with a focus on the technology of production of pig iron
- Determination of production changes furnaces depending on the amount of replacement fuel
- Individual assessment exercise (granting score semester program, score paper, active participation in the exercises), the granting of credit.
