Subject syllabus

Thermodynamics, kinetics and reaction mechanism of metallurgical processes.
Thermal dissociation of inorganic compounds. Indirect reduction of oxides, reducing charts, technical diagrams importance of reduction of iron oxides. Boudouard reaction and its industrial application. Direct reduction of oxides reduction diagrams, direct reduction of iron oxides.
Topochemical reactions, thermodynamics of nucleation of a new phase in the phase of old.
Homogeneous and heterogeneous nucleation. The interaction of gases with solid and molten metal.
The molten slag, basic concepts, classification of ions in slags, ionic potential, alkalinity slags. Physico-chemical properties of slags.
Physico-chemical analysis of refinery processes.
Moderní trendy v metalurgii.
