Subject syllabus

Application of chemical thermodynamic laws and reaction kinetics in chemical and environmental technology.
Real gases, heat capacities of substances, heat of reaction, variation of the reaction enthalpy wih temperature,thermodynamic state functions, enthalpy balance,criteria of thermodynamic equilibrium, chemical and phase equilibria, factors affecting equilibria. Thermodynamic conditions of equilibrium of pure substances and in multicomponent systems, liquid-gas equilibrium in mixtures, solid-gas equilibrium in mixtures, partial molar quantities, chemical potential. Solutions, its classification and properties.
Kinetics of homogeneous and heterogeneous chemical reactions, rate of chemical reaction and the possibility of its experimental measurements.
Diffusion and adsorption processes, overview of the possibilities of mathematical solutions.
Dispersion systems - classification, characterization, properties and importance.
Selectection of chapters will be adapted to the orientation of the doctoral dissertation and other special monographic and periodical literature will be recommended .
