Subject syllabus

Thermodynamics of chemical reactions. Thermal effect of a chemical reaction. Gibbs energy and thermodynamic feasibility. The equilibrium degree of conversion.
Elementary reactions in ideal isothermal reactors. Compound reaction. Batch reactors with a variable volume and pressure. Plug flow reactors for reactions in the liquid and gaseous phase. Ideally mixed reactors. Semi reactors.
Energy balance, non-isothermal reactors. The optimum working temperature. Adiabatic reactors. Multiple steady states.
Research on the kinetics of chemical reactions. Macrokinetic and microkinetic properties. Principles of design laboratory reactor. Methods of processing kinetic data. Scaling.
Real flow. Methods of diagnosis of hydrodynamics flow in real reactors. Distribution of the delay. Flow model for real tubular reactors - laminar and turbulent flow, axial dispersion cascade of ideal mixers. Macrofluid and microfluid, segregation model.
Heterogeneous catalytic reactors. The kinetic equations for the catalytic reaction. Models of heterogeneous catalytic reactors. Effective factor. Pressure drop in sprinkled bed. Multiphase reactors.
Topics for detailed study will be selected based on the orientation of the dissertation.
