Course aims

The student will be able as follows:
- to define and compare basic types of alloys based on nonferrous metals used for casting manufacture;
- to know principles of metallurgical treatment of individual foundry alloys;
- to gain an ability of designing a suitable technological process for manufacture of castings from basic types of alloys;
- to analyse nonferrous metal casting defects.
