Subject syllabus

1) Characterization and separation of inorganic binders.
2) The requirements of raw materials for production of inorganic binders, the use of recycled materials.
3) Air binders: gypsum binder, lime binder, magnesium binders.
4) Hydraulic binder - cement: classification, the main types.
5) Portland cement - the raw material, raw material mixture composition calculations, and their selection criteria.
6) The chemical and physical processes in the manufacture of cement clinker, the types of kiln systems, clinker cooler.
7) The mineralogical composition of clinker - potential and actual.
8) latent hydraulic substance.
9) Grinding of clinker - cements, their testing, performance requirements according to standards.
10) Hydration of Portland cement, and influence the properties of hydration products.
11) Calcium aluminate cement - raw materials, production, properties.
12) Application of binders: mortar, plaster mixes, lightweight concrete, aerated concrete.
13) Metallurgical concrete - a mixture of ingredients, processing, modifying properties, concrete prefabrication.
