Subject syllabus

Technological aspects of the production of pig iron. Iron production in a blast furnace. Technological failures of blast furnace. Injection technology for replacement fuels in the blast furnace. Cleaning of blast furnace gas, use of cleaning products. Gaseous, liquid and solid pollutants arising from the production of pig iron, their use in the metallurgical cycle.
Modification of existing industrial processes of iron production - new and innovative technologies. Comparison of different processes from an ecological point of view. Ecological aspects of the use of metal-bearing wastes in the production of pig iron. Modern waste-free technology and BAT applications in the production of pig iron.
