Osnova předmětu

Introduction to mathematical modeling, principles of mathematical model, analytical solution of Poisson's and Laplace's equation, the finite element method, a variation of a functional, properties of basis functions.
Patterns of creating finite element mesh (accuracy vs. computation speed), mesh quality evaluation, mesh modification according to the needs of a particular model.
Boundary and initial conditions for modeling of forming processes - an overview, the pitfalls of the conventional methods of their determination, the principles of inverse analysis.
Thermo-mechanical analysis in forming, interdependence of individual variables, levels of analysis.
Semester project assignment according to the student's specialization (forging, rolling, wire drawing, etc.). Design of main experiment plan. Design of additional physical experiments and measurements.
Presentation of project results.
