Subject syllabus

Russian for self-learners and perpetual beginners. Units 1-5.
1. Introductions (Знакомство). The Russian sentence. Personal pronouns. Nationalities. Addressing. What is your name?
2. How are you? (Как дела?). The declension of singular masculine nouns ending in a hard consonant. The infinitive forms of the Russian verbs and past tense. Polite forms of address.
3. My family (Моя семья). The declension of singular feminine nouns ending in a hard consonant. Cardinal numbers 0-20 in the first case. Negation. The verb to have.
4. What? Where? When? (Что? Где? Когда?). The declension of singular neuter nouns ending in a hard consonant. The conjugation of the verb to be. Formation of the future tense of imperfective verbs. Intonation in questions. Russian middle names (patronymics). How old are you?
5. What are you going to do? (Какие у вас планы?). Days of a week. Time expressions. Cardinal numbers 30-199 in the first case. Using the noun hour (час). First conjugation verbs читать, гулять. Conjugation of the verb идти.
