Course title Phyllosiliacates as nanofillers and matrices for functional nanostructures
Credits 10
Coordinating department CNT - Nanotechnology Centre
Course coordinator RNDr. Marta Valášková, DSc.

Subject syllabus

Preparation of silicates for their use in the function as (1) nanofillers to improve and achieve new specific mechanical properties (eg, antibacterial) of composites clay/polymer, (2) silicate substrate (media) of inorganic and organic compounds that predispose the properties of precipitated nanoparticles of metals or organic molecules on their surface, (3) precursors of mixtures of silicates into ceramic components in nanocomposites to improve the desired composite properties (hardness, porosity, resistance to high temperatures).
Structure of silicates and nanocomposites prepared from them characterized using laboratory methods and interpretation of results.
