Subject syllabus

1. Description of the electronic structure of various types of solids in terms of semiclassical and quantum theory.
2. The description of electron-phonon interactions in nanostructures in terms of quantum confinement and the influence of this effect on quantum transitions, especially in the field of semiconductors.
3. Limitation of the electron and phonon wave function by the quantum confinement effect and its influence on the properties of nanostructures.
4. Application of positron annihilation spectroscopy in microstructural analysis of crystals
