The graduate of the course acquires fundamental and advanced knowledge in the field of arc welding equipment, understands basic terminology and classification of welding power sources, and applies occupational safety requirements during their operation. They understand the principles of design and control of welding transformers, electronic converters, rotary sources, and welding rectifiers, as well as the function of medium-frequency and high-frequency inverters. They are able to explain the principles of synergic MIG welding and characterize power sources and equipment for welding in shielding gases as well as submerged arc welding. Furthermore, they are familiar with welding fixtures, positioners, manipulators, and the principles of welding robotization. The acquired knowledge is applied in selecting appropriate welding equipment for specific technological tasks in practice.
